Sam Rininger
I've been writing since childhood, filling my parents’ attic with my stories and (badly) illustrated books. In sixth grade, my book was chosen to represent my class at the Young Authors' Conference, and in high school, I co-chaired the Florida Scholastic Press Association's state board. Though I drafted four novels over the years, I didn’t write my debut until forty, spurred on by the birth of my daughter and a fateful pizza in Italy. Influenced by Dungeons & Dragons and classics like The Hobbit and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, I’ve always sought to live a life steeped in fantasy and folklore—complete with a fantasy-themed wedding. I even named my daughter Artemis, after the Greek goddess of the hunt. Alongside writing, I also built a fantasy dice-making business with 175,000+ fans, and I now share my author journey with a growing social media community. Influenced by Dungeons and Dragons and classics like The Hobbit and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Gloomlands Chronicles: Secrets of the Fae invites readers into the type of vibrant, magical world I always wanted to live in. The novel has been praised by Kirkus, Booklife, and Reader’s Choice.
